A very festive weekend - Part two (...chronological order....yeah......*coughs*)

This weekend I went to my favourite (medieval) Christmas market with a friend, who sadly had to leave quite soon, but I don't mind benig on my own and I ended up staying a lot longer than planned, but it was very much worth it! (I even met a two of my Austrian followers :O )
The Museum of Military History of Vienna is one of my favourite museums of all times - and especially because part of their focus is on the Thirty Years' War which, alongside the Middleages is a time that I find to be extremely interesting (I have  documentary on Albrecht von Wallenstein that I have seen beyond count).

The nifty things seen there might have inspired me a wee bit and showed in my baking...

Because of a shortage on cookie cutters that are not leaf- or animal- shaped, I decided to handle it the barbaric way and slice my desired shapes off the dough with a very dangerous weapon *giggles*

I have to say, that I am very pleased wsith the results - something I was not at all expecting! It might have taken ages until my creation was ready for the oven, but I had some baroque and metal Christmassongs to make time pass within the blink of an eye  (and because I had the house to myself for today, I could also belt along -- not a good singer, but the cat seemed to enjoy it. If this is to be taken as a compliment though .... xD)

(Now we are back to the Two Steps from Hell Christmas Medley, some poetry writing and trying to not eat all cookies in one go)

All in all it has been an absolutely wonderful weekendand the best part about it is, that I will be free tomorrow as well; whee!

[Pictures of the medieval market adventures will be up soon, this Elf has been on the pc a lot today!]
