When you try saving money and it goes wrong (plus Merida-GIFs)

Now that I have had my appointment, I finally know what is going on and what to do.

It is a form of Dermatitis that usually affects people who go too crazy on skincare or makeup and well.... I definitely do neither of them. In my case it is because of a an allergic combo reaction between a milk-protein accident (someone understood my soymilk order as "hey I am lactose intolerant, you can put L-free milk in my drink" -- wrong, very wrong) and usage of skincare products that were not made for allergy prone skin.

Actually, everything I put onto my skin should be that crazy expensive stuff from the pharmacy that is made for allergy-sensitive skin, meaning: no parabens, no mineral oils, no alcohol, no perfume, nothing. The answer to why I have been avoiding doing just that is in the actual sentence. Hint: it's the "crazy expensive" part. I know from experience how fast cash flies off into the abyss when every product ever has to be hypoallergenic: facewash, shower gel, shampoo, body lotion, sunscreen (EEEW I don't want to part with my holy grail of non sticky spf 50+!!) and moisturizer. Preferably also makeup. At least I hardly ever use that. Phew!

Tried to save money but my body said no. This rash is basically my skin yelling at me "What are you doing? Are you stupid? I am a delight and I demand being treated as such. Bring forth the special-snowflake stuff!" Yes, basically this.

Of course this means that there are no excuses anymore now and that I will have to replace everything, that is not already made for overly sensitive skin. My mother is going to rejoice, I know she has been keeping an eye on my luxurious moisturizer *laughs* At least I can make people happy with that^^

Yes.

Aside from this, I am not allowed to use any form of cosmetics on my skin for the next 2 weeks at least - makeup is forbidden for 6 (is it wrong though, that I really don't care about that, except for the fact that I now cannot do my Drow-makeup this weekend when I was supposed to go on a wee larp, that I now had to cancel, because only somebody with a strong deathwish would go to a Drow tavern when not being a Drow. Nerdproblems, I'm telling you...). I am quite curious how my extremely sensitive and dry skin will react to "water only". Because of my other skincondition, I have to use facial cream once a day. Well, I am preparing for the worst. But I am sure my Dermatologist will have a fix for if the apocalypse goes down on my face ;)
The new Dermatologist is very good and a whole lot nicer than my last. To be honest, I don't even know why I have stuck with the old one for so long, all she did was mixing creams that would never help.

In my case, the nifty skin disease was so severe that I have to use antibiotics for a month, but I guess I will deal with that. And why has it become so bad? Will you tell them, Rica? It has become this bad because I, thinking it was my regular atopic dermatitis, at some point used my cortison cream to gain control, which is about the worst one could do in that situation: it makes the rash go berserc. Note to self: don't do that again.

Well done, Rica

Don't be irritated though if you see selfies with normal looking skin in the next weeks, I will photoshop this beautiful warzone out of my face if you don't mind. And even if you do mind; it's not like you are missing out on anything exciting ;)

Well well, this is my report, tomorrow I shall grab some coin and march towards the pharmacy to re-stock everything that has been kicked out.

The further good news is: I am used to this already, it is not going to be much of a change in the long run - probably hard to imagine for people without allergies, but hey, as long as I play by the rules, everything is fine. :)

Now going to watch a movie and then go to bed, although I think I will be a bad student and skip my first lecture tomorrow, I am starting to feel slightly sick-ish (which is probably a side-effect of my immune system now focusing on freaking out), and I don't want to risk getting ill from rising way too early.

And besides, a little sleeping in time never hurts~

And as a wee bonus, while searching for this particular Merida-GIF, I aldo found this one, which is me on so many levels:
