The probably biggest obstacle for having more time in a day...

I very well remember writing the post on why there is not thing such as "I can't" and especially: "I wish I had the time...". You can find it here, if you feel like reading it, I still very strongly go by it.

There is something in particular though, that most people dedicate way more time to than they actually notice and that could be the reason why you maybe feel like you have too little time to actually tackle things you want or have to do. Already guessing?

´Let's get out of our comfort zones! *throws sparkle*

Yes, the TV.
And everyone is going to hate me now for attacking this holy sanctuary of humanity, but don't judge too fast.

It might be shocking, but I never switch on our tv when I am on my own. Ever.
I guess I have just found way more exciting and productive things to do with my time. I guess I regularly annoy others, because I think quite lowly of television itself, but for me there is a great difference in picking a DVD or a program (>> directing my time and dedicating tims) and randomly zapping about (>> killing time)

First and foremost: It eats up a lot of hours. Imagine what you could acomplish with those 2 - 6 hours extra daily! Especially when you are a full time student or worker, these hours will already make a grand difference - time flies fast. 3 hours in a day makes 21 hours in a week! That is almost a DAY. Feeling like you never have time? That's probably where this time went...

This one is actually my most important point: People tend to think it is relaxing,  but in fact it is quite energy draining.
Something that relaxes you should leave you calm and energized, inspired and well rested - but does anyone ever feel like that, after being done with a couple of hours of primetime? Usually, we just feel tired.

30 minutes of power nap are a way  better idea than spending the night on the couch in my opinion - I have greatly noticed the importance of giving your brain some time to rest and on top of that some peace and quiet. Setting half an hour to an hour in a day, where you strip yourself of artificial background noise can make such a grand difference

And of course there is nothing wrong with watching a DVD or a series every now and then (gosh, I do that too and especially with series I sometimes over-do it, when it is super captivating) - the only thing we should honestly ask ourselves: am I controling the tv, or is it controlling me?

I don't ever plan on making it a habit or part of my routine again, because I enjoy getting stuff done, learning new things and  spendign time with others way more, than surfing from channel to channel until i notice it is past bedtime already *winks*
