Many adventures and projects!

Greetings my dear readers!

Long time has passed since I last wrote a post and one of the reasons was my vacation in Hannover, Germany, where I went on many adventures, met lovely people and spent way too much time in a wee tea and herb store with a fantastic selection of goods!

I was brave enough to drink this
When I was wee, I invented a game that I call "Beverage/food Bingo". My parents took me to a lot of different countries from a very young age and I grew up with many different cultures influencing my imagination. Back when I was in kindergarten, I stated mussels and shrimp to be my favourite meal, simply because I was used to trying things other kids would even lay their eyes upon. Thus the food-bingo was invented: When in a foreign grocery store, I pick one random item (if I cannot tell what excactly it is, the better *giggles*) and just try it. With drinks I have the rule that I have to finnish them even if they are not tasty and I have always had great fun with it (and discovered some very delicious things, like this nifty drink that looks like it is something Dryads could enjoy).

The church with the pentacle in Hannover

Against the grand misconception, that the pentacle, or the reversed pentacle is a sign of evil or Satan, it is actually just a symbol of protection. On the Old Religions, the reversed pentacle refers to the horned god who was misinterpreted as Lucifer by the Catholics. For those in wonder why a heathen symbol like that graces the tower of a church, the answer to that is quite simple: eventhouth we all know of the witch burnings of the middleages, it didn't always use to be like that. In early medieval times catholic priests would visit the heathen celebrations and the two religions co existed peacefully. Only later, when the church gained power, they started seeing a threat in paganism and thus began the burnings. In German, my mothertongue, we have the word "Heidenspaß" which literally translates to "heathen fun" and means "to have fun like a heathen". Pagans were the ones who made a lot of celebrations and were famous for their feasts, dances and gatherings. This is also suspected to be one of the reasons why the church felt so threatened by the old ways.
I've been reading a very interesting book called "Witchcraft today" that also states the similarities between the witch cult and the Templar knights - and surprisingly there are a lot! The Templars got prosecuted by the church as much as the witches were - history is so interesting and terrible.

Other than that, I am still fiddling with my second room, and so far I am pleased with the results. All that is needed now is some more budget to get some more nifty things but I am sure I will find some good decorations on fleasmarkets and sales. I am a pro-hunter when it comes to that!~
