Yes, it is that time of the year again - and because I finally had my free day (which is today) I decided to build the most forest inspired Advent wreath possible.
I believe this is an Austrian custom - over here the festive time officially starts four sundays before the actual Christmas celebration and each sunday we light another candle on our wreaths. Of course no everyone is taking part in this tradition, but even non-Catholic people like me like to join in, for it holds many lovely childhood memories (and also gives a great excuse to put yet anouther piece of woodland-decor into my already more than themed room thehe!)
But to be fair, I also absolutely enjoy candles - such a simple decive to add warmth and light -- one thing is for sure, if there is a power shortage; I am set.

I used some twigs, branches and moss gathered from the woods a few days earlier. These cndles are just plceholders until I loot some in a proper size.

And because I spontaneously decided to add some fairylights, I could not resist strategically placing a few crystals, to make them appear being some sort of magical, glowing stones (we all know that I have a few Silmarils at home, shhhh don't tell Morgoth...)

Perfectionism struck: I painted the fairylights, to mathe them blend in more when not lit, but also to create a warmer glow when switched on) It was not most practical to do that, after I had managed to twirl them around the branches but oh well...
Also: there was not enough glitter left at home (屮゜Д゜)屮
So what else is planned for today? I originally felt like baking some cookies in sword, shield and moose shapes but there was an issue with out oven so now I am not so sure... I might just do a little writing and then fetch some tea, the cat and draw a little whilst listening to some of the festive CDs my dad got me last year -- not the usual songs heard about everywhere though - traditional Christmas songs in classical baroque style (my father knows how much I fanelf for baroque and renaissance music!)
Let us see for how long I can avoid "Last Christmas" this year! Challenge accepted.
