The RAWolution begins~

Actually, it has already begun, but yesterday has been far too busy too write this blogpost.

I've already spent the past week juicing way more and having meals consisting of mainly raw fruits and vegetables for transitioning reasons in case I would indeed go for the full deal which I actualy am. I love challenges and this one is going to be fun - so many recipes for me to try, so many habits to break!

Now, when you hear "raw vegan diet", you probably think of eating plain apples, carrots and salads without dressing all day and wonder: why would anybody want to do that? You are right, I don't want to do that. There are so many more options and possibilities when it comes to preparing raw-vegan dishes; some of them; especialy the sweets, are already in my favourites and I have a full folder of recipes that I am going to alter to my own liking (because I don't like cooking by measures as you guys know).

Look at this glory!

Also very inspiring has been the youtube series; "Raw. Vegan. Not gross." which in my opinion has the most perfect title - taste is of course something individual, but I can say from experience that t is hard to find the gems amongst all the not-so-satisfying-recipes
I will tell you if I create something utterly horrible *laughs*

...and why?
As already said in my previous post, I will be sticking with this for about two months, with the option to maybe elongate this period, if I feel a massive, positive difference.
Aside from thinking that this highly anti-inflammatory diet might be beneficial for my knee-situation, there are also a couple of other reasonst that contributed into going for it.
  1. I just wanted to see if I can do it and what it's like.
  2. Since I should be avoiding animal protein anyways (for allergy reasons), it is going to be a general break for my body as I have noticed that I have become a wee bit inconsequent in keeping things like cheese an occasional treat.
  3. This one might sound a tad weird and maybe is hard to explain, but I wanted to see if I can break the sugar.addiction we all have. Even if it is for just two months. I am still planinng on eating sweets and cakes afterwards, but I want this to be a choice of my own, not of my body running wild on it's suar-rush. It's a personal thing,a  challenge for my mind if you will.
  4. The more fruits and vegetables I consume, the happier, healthier and more active I am and the greater I feel.
Why raw though?
Indeed I could have just gone strictly vegan for some time, but  you know..you either go hard or you go home. Cooking destroys quite the deal of nutrients locked in our food and because I am doing this for health reasons, I want to aim for the most efficient method. I'd rather not do something at all than doing it with only a part of my energy and willpower in it.

I will definitely challenge myself in these sixty days, I know from experience that the first four days are the hardest amd the first two weeks just  a massive eating-feast where one devours insane amounts of food but it will go down as time passes.

And speaking of food, time for  huge snack - enough of the food-related posts for now!~

Wishing you all a wonderful thursday!

Sure! Most recipes don't follow measurements but I am definitely planning on sharing some of my favourites anyways... (the pictures used in this post are by the way linked to the original source where you can find how to recreate it ☺🌿)
