The Force is strong with this one! (MANY photos)

Last week I took my dear friend Seyma to the Star Wars Identities Exhibition in Vienna. Oh gosh I had been excited for this since months already!
Usually, we never get to see any of these exhibitions with original costumes and such and I admit that I was squealing a little when it was announced and even more when I finally held the tickets in my hands. Because it would open during my Elfling's stay (and on the day of the first screening of the English version of Star Wars - The Force Awakens), I decided to just make it part of her Yule gift.

Our day started out quiet early and my little Padawan and myself dressed ourself in the traditioal Jedi attire. Because some wee allergy-leftovers in my face, that I could not yet cover with makeup, I simply decided to to my usual trick and just make a nifty scar out of it. This by the way, is also how My Noldor-Elf ended up with a scar-face ;)

We were secretly hoping to meet those people again, who had challenged me to a lightsabre duel just a few days ago, because this time I was definitely dressed apropriately! Although Seyma was considerate enough to actually record these short duels (plural, because they came back for more ten minutes later), We now found the actual version with epic lightsabre sounds! *swoosh swoosh*

If you want to see me prancing around to the Jedi theme; I am at ~3:55

It is funny to see, how much fencing is still shaping my style of combat - my coach would be proud haha.
But back to the original topic, the actual exhibition! Here is some Star Wars music to go with:

Greeted by this sight, how can you not be excited?

--"R2 look! A Jedi!"

--"Internet, look! It's me with R2!"
caught in the middle of the act! I am too much of  a perfectionist to not have a quickly made, matching phone case!

The creature busts were absolutely incredible!!
 Haters gonna hate...!

Seyma: Master, do the Obi-Wan face! -- Me: What does that look like? -- Seyma: I don't know...think something like "no relationships, Anakin!". I ended up thinking of a way more catchy phrase, that I started mis-using EVERY TIME when Seyma and I were using the moving stairway *winks* (you know wich one, Anakin!!)... Aside from randomly yelling "YOU WERE THE CHOSEN ONE!!" at her in public. I can be quite embarrassing if I want to ;)

Little Skywalker and master Kenobi on their way to save the galaxy (Seyma: or destroy it...?)

Goes without a saying, that, at the point where you have to choose your mentor, I didn't have a though choice. (Although, since we have established, that I am Obi-Wan, maybe I should have gone for Master Qui-Gon...hmmm.... Guess I'll have to go there again...!)
Me: Anakin no! -- Seyma: ANAKIN YES!!!!! (look at little Annie's face! pffft! She is like "WATCH ME GO TO THE DARK SIDE, MASTER! WATCH ME!!)

Probably the prop I had the hardest time to say goodbye to...
"Smile, master Yooda!" -- "Truly more duties I should give you, if time for taking selfies you have!"

pure and utter glory!

One gets to create a character through the exhibition-tour, here is the results!
(Do you see tiny Seyma in the background :D)

After having been to the exhibition for about four hours, I spent some credits in the shop, as there was no way to not go home with a Yoda shirt and matching bottle, as well as the (shockingly overpriced) lanyard, but I had to, it is tradition for me to always bring a lanyard from events and wear them as a keychain until I so something new!~

We've had quite some time before the movie would start, so we spontaneously invaded some of the nearby Christmas markets in the center of th city (yes in Jedi clothes)
And since poeple tend to complain, that I am always so serious in photos -- here; you are welcome.
already miss my little Anakin loads! <3
(by now I think I could already make a compilation of pictures where I randomly kiss people in photos; Elfling -- ckeck; a dwarf -- check, Haldir -- check, my sis -- check (?), the other dwarf -- check.)

We also met my father at the well known tavern called Starbucks, to have some hot drinks before the cinema would start, until we were seated at the balcony of the English theatre, some loot from the snackbar on our laps and a wee bit of Yoda-coloured Starbucks drinks in the Yoda bottle I bought, because we could not finish it and therefore snuck it into the cinema, using some Jedi mind tricks.
*humms Star Wars theme*

I will not spoiler anything, but I just want to say, that my personal expectations have been beaten! I was not expecting much, just hoping for it to be remotely ok, but I was so pleasantly surprised, that I cannot wait for more!
I have laughed out loud a couple of times (which, although being quite a giggly person; hardly ever happens during movies), even cried (not just once) and in general appreciated, what Disney manged to create.
Let us see, how fast the DVDs are out, otherwise I might have to go back to the cinema again ;)

If you hail from Austria too, are planning on making holidays there and have not seen the Star Wars Identities exhibition, I highly recommend it to anyone!

May the force be with you~
